Let’s help Mollie and Lauryn out!

Hi my name is Crystal and I’m helping my dear friend Mollie out while she is in Iowa City with her daughter Lauryn.

here is what is going on, On August 12th, Lauryn declined fast this afternoon with seizures and at about 8pm she became unresponsive after my 2 doses of rescue meds she was still seizing had to call an ambulance and she got 2 more doses on the way to the hospital with no change they ended up life flighting her to Iowa city and she seized all the way there they called me to ask if they could intubate her cause she was still seizing and the meds they want to give her is going to make her very sleepy and cause compromise her breathing and airway .

She went into septic shock on Sunday morning after her port was found to have an infection in it. Then her right lung collapsed and her left one filled up with fluid We got her off the versed drip and no seizures over night she is almost off the epi drip and is off the nitro oxide.

She is still on 4 different antibiotics to help kill whatever is causing this infection and hopefully we can get it gone and we can put it back in we just might have to wait until her body is healed and the antibiotics are in and give her time to heal

We met with surgeon today and infection disease dr to make a plan with that we know it’s going to be taken out but she only has one side to use due to her VNS on the other side and they don’t want to put it back in the same side in fear of it getting infected again

Her left lung is still kinda full and her right one is still collapsed but is slowly recovering

We are look like going to the OR in the next couple days before they pull the tube and before we leave to take her port out and fix her teeth.
