Let's Help Molly Carroll Fight Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Just a few weeks ago, Molly and Collin were getting ready for the holidays like the rest of us. Of course, they were preparing to make it the best Christmas yet for their son Cameron (3) and daughter Callie (2). Even in the hustle and bustle, Molly knew something was off. Sure, she was tired (25 kindergarteners and your own kids at home will do that to you!), but this was something more. After seeing a local doctor, then being referred to The James Cancer Center at The Ohio State University, Molly was diagnosed with stage 2, triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma on January 5, 2024.
At 32 years old, this is never the news you expect to hear. This is one of life's busiest seasons for Molly and her family. Now, she must pause to focus on her health, focus on battling cancer, and ultimately, focus on winning the fight. Well, chemotherapy doesn't start until the week of January 21, and she isn't pausing yet. Callie turned two during the last week of December, and Molly didn't let cancer stop her from throwing the best birthday celebration for her little girl -- complete with cake, friends, and family -- just one day after getting her official diagnosis. If you know Molly, this might not surprise you because she's probably one of the strongest people you know. If you don't know Molly, this story demonstrates the kind of grit and determination she has. She doesn't let things like infertility, and now cancer, stand in her way. This steadfastness is what she will use to fight through this journey.
But what about the rest of us? What do we have that we can give to help Molly fight her battle against breast cancer?
Aside from being a truly amazing mom, wife, and friend to all, Molly is a public school teacher. While she is ready to take on her chemo treatments (and eventually her double mastectomy), Molly's allotted sick days are far and few between after having two babies within the past three years, Once her sick days run out, she will be on unpaid medical leave and also have to pay the school board's portion on her insurance plan. This will undoubtedly take a financial toll on Molly and her family.
But here's the problem: Molly and CJ are not the type of people to ask for money, or really any help at all. Molly is the type of person who goes above and beyond to help those she loves as well as people she doesn't even know. That's why I am setting up this GoFundMe (with their permission) to help take the financial burden off of them during this extremely hard time. Please avoid mentioning the fundraiser to Molly as her very-Molly-like instructions were, "You can do it, but I don't want to know about it."
Any money donated will go towards the loss of her income and medical bills. Please help out in any way you can (no amount is too small) and show Molly that she is not in this fight against cancer alone!
