Let's Help Molly & Mia!

Hi Everyone!

If you know Molly, you probably know of the famous rescue dog,  Mia, with the Instagram worthy smile.  If you know Molly, you also know Mia means the world to her. Mia has been very sick and in and out of the emergency vet since about Nov 22.  She has been in a lot of pain and unable to keep food down.

After hospital stays, feeding tubes & tests, they think they have some answers. The biopsy results came back and Mia has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Her stomach and small intestine are severely inflamed, not absorbing nutrients, and causing her a LOT of pain. She has already lost 3 of her 17 pounds since this started over two weeks ago.

The good news is this is treatable. She started steroid treatments and will be on a special diet from now on. She will keep the esophagostomy tube in for a few weeks just in case Molly needs to go back to feeding her through it. (She has been happily eating on her own for a few days.)

Although she is not out of the woods yet, she is already showing signs of significant improvement.  

I asked Molly if it would help to create a GoFundme.  She was extremely touched we wanted to help and very grateful. The vet bills are piling up and she is already out of pocket for well over $11,000!

We wanted to give all the Mia & Molly fans & friends out there an easy way to help remove at least some of the significant financial burden Molly has encountered while caring for her best friend.  If you know Molly, you know she's always there to support others and I hope we can give back to her.  For our family - (and so many others), Molly was so much more than our children’s middle school PE teacher/Athletic Director; she was a mentor, a friend, and someone who they knew they could count on inside and outside of school.

I know it's a tough time for so many, but if you are in a position to help financially (even a little!), I know Molly and Mia would be forever grateful.
