Let’s help mom get a wheelchair accessible vehicle

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Stephanie!

Anthony, my little brother, also known as Peanut, is wheelchair bound. He’s a 20 years old quad that cannot put any weight on his legs. My mom, who is his care taker, has been struggling with transferring Peanut in and out of the car. He is a heavy guy! There’s times when we both try to get him in the car from his wheelchair and he will slip through our hands and arms and drop to the ground. There was an incident where he got hurt from a fall, hit the concrete and started bleeding on the side of his face. My mom had to call 911 to have someone dispatched to the house to help her get him back in the house. Picking him up from the ground has caused my mom to have severe back pain.  He is 6’ and 157lbs dead weight.  She continues to do this 4 times a day and doesn’t complain “That’s what moms do” she says.

I’m asking for help so we can take this weight off my mom’s shoulders and also so Peanut won’t get hurt again. A wheelchair accessible van will help in so many ways. She will be able to place Peanut in his wheelchair and be able to put him in the van without taking him out his chair.  Transporting him to school, doctors appointments, the grocery store and even the mall (which Peanut loves) will be so much easier.

Let’s get together and try to help my mom. She needs our help. Thank you all.
