Hi my name is Lisa Pijuan-Nomura and I am starting a GoFundMe for my friend Ben Bowen, aka the beloved “Mr. Ben.”

Ben was the first person I met when my son started school at Earl Kitchener School and we became fast friends. When I was sick he helped me & my family, & now it’s time for us to take care of him:

DIAGNOSIS:

After a routine colonoscopy, Ben was diagnosed with colon cancer and on Monday, October 26th, he began an aggressive chemotherapy regimen. which, over the next few months, will be followed by radiation and surgery. While treatment may last anywhere from 9-12 months, doctors are quite confident about his chances of a full recovery.

WHO IS MR BEN?

Mr. Ben is a music teacher and a children’s performer & musician in Hamilton, ON. He gives his all to share songs & creativity with parents and children, and has, over the last 20 years, become an important part of the Hamilton Arts community. He is a dad to two of the coolest kids I know, is kind, and funny, and he needs our help.

Mr. Ben won't be able to be around young children due to the treatments compromising his immune system.. So it’s time for us to gather around our friend and give him all of the support that he has given us through the years.

The money raised from the GoFundMe will go to rent, monthly home expenses, food, medical and everything one needs when going through cancer treatment as he will be unable to work while undergoing treatment.

Mr Ben spreads a lot of love and joy through his music and now it’s time for us to gather around and help him.
