Let’s help Mrs. Tobin during this difficult time

Hi, my name is Merissa and I would like to start this fundraiser for my son’s 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Tobin.

Mrs. Tobin is an ELA teacher at one of our local elementary schools. She’s a wife and mother to two young children. From the day my family and I met her at the beginning of the school year, we knew she was going to have a very special place in our hearts and that my son (who is high functioning and ADHD) was going to love her.. and we were right! She has helped ALL of her school babies in so many ways, in such a short time, that she deserves this and so much more right now.

Mrs. Tobin has recently been diagnosed with cancer. I do not know what kind, or the extent, but I do know it has required her to miss many weeks of school already and quite a few more to come. She’s going to be starting chemotherapy soon and plans on coming back to school while continuing through chemo. So I’m sure we can all understand how traumatic and scary this must be for her and her family right now.

As I’m sure many of you know, teachers unfortunately do not have high pay rates and a lot of what’s in their classrooms (supplies, decorations, books, activities, celebrations) is funded through their own money. Not to mention their benefits that likely will only get them so far.

I’m reaching out to all of you to see if you can find a small amount to help support Mrs. Tobin during this time. Anything and everything is so appreciated, and I want to thank each and every one of you ahead of time for simply taking the time to read this story.
