Let’s help Paige recover!!
Donation protected
Hey y’all, most of ya know Paige’s story & have cheered her on for many years now. If this girl hasn’t been through enough already: From the burn accident in 2016 to the tragic death of her husband Paul in 2018.
We’ll, apparently God thought she could handle just a little more… this girl is one tough cookie. We’ve never seen someone live such an “eventful” life all by the young age of 30 and somehow manages to take it in stride and keep on going.
Her care team wanted to set this up for her to help her along her road to recovery & ease any financial burdens she may face. Any donations would go towards the costs of the plane tickets her family had to schedule last min to get to Louisiana, costs for Ashlyn & Parker’s care while she’s recovering, her in home care she will need when she goes home, medical supply’s (hospital bed, walker, wheelchair, casts, splints etc.) also any other miscellaneous things she may need like transportation to & from the doctor until she can drive again. (Her truck is totaled) but it definitely saved her life!
Here’s a brief summary on the accident: Please keep her & her little family in your prayers! We will continue to update y’all as we know more. SUMMARY: Hey y’all this is Paige’s care team. We just wanted to update everyone on the horrific accident that occurred Tuesday morning, 3/21/23. (Oddly enough on her late husband Paul’s Birthday.) Paige (7 months pregnant) was driving around a blind corner only to realize that all of the traffic ahead was at a dead stop.
Unfortunately, she had absolutely no time to stop . She ended up going head on with an 18 wheeler trying to avoid the truck in the lane in-front of her without realizing the 18 wheeler that was coming her way. Also to paint the picture more clearly the road she was on was a 2 Lane Rd. with nowhere to go on either side.
Thankfully they were able to get baby Cruz out safely via c section but unfortunately he was without air for quite some time & his little body had already started shutting down. After they had resuscitated him & got him stable, they started the surgery’s on Paige’s injuries. Paige broke her femur, heel, & multiple bones in her foot. Lacerated her liver, bruised her lung very badly, and one knarly looking C-section wound across her abdomen. She has had 3 surgeries so far to repair the leg in question.
We’re hoping that she will be heading home within the next week with an in home caregiver. We’re not sure if she is going to have 24 hour care or not but her family has to leave on the 2nd but will be returning in two weeks time. They are going back home to possibly prepare the house for her to recover in Colorado with her mother if need be (in case she doesn’t get the 24 hour care approved by insurance) and also so she can be close to family while she recovers with the baby.
The good news is baby Cruz’s brain scans are showing tons of activity. His organ functions & levels are waking back up, but unfortunately he’s not quite out of the woods yet. We set up a meal train for her in the meantime since a lot of things are still up in the air for her.
We wanted to make sure she would at least have a hot meal every day & donations to cover her mortgage, utilities, etc., while her and her family figured out the logistics of everything & while she is out of work for the next few months to a year.
Ashlyn & Parker (Paige’s 8 & 6 year old) are with family in CA & are blissfully unaware of the accident. So thankfully Paige won’t be coming home with the daunting task of a broken leg and two hyper (yet sweet) little girls. Baby Cruz will be in the NICU untill his due date in may. This will give Paige some time to heal & rest while she learns how to walk again.
We will keep everyone updated as we know more, please keep her & her children in your prayers! This is going to be quite the uphill battle for Paige, but from what we’ve seen in the short time we’ve gotten to know Paige is that she is a fighter & is a very half full kinda gal! Throughout these last 10 days she has been so positive about her situation & hasn’t let much get her down.
We are just so impressed that someone can be thrown so much in such a short life and have such a positive outlook on life. This girl has the spunk & positivity that is out of this world! We will keep everyone updated on the long journey Paige & Cruz have ahead of themselves!
❤️❤️❤️
