Let's help Sherrie beat breast cancer!

On August 12th, our sweet friend and colleague, Sherrie Combs, was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). Thus began a new, (and surely unwanted) chapter in Sherrie's life.

Sherrie began her cancer treatment plan on Thursday, September 8. The current plan includes 14 weeks of chemotherapy which will prayerfully reduce the tumors discovered in her body and prepare her for surgery to remove all remaining cancer (mastectomy).

I know that all who love this amazing, kind, generous, godly woman would love to alleviate ANY of the burdens and challenges ahead. So many have already done so with your prayers, your acts of kindness, and your encouragement. Much of the battle ahead will be Sherrie's to fight in her own body and mind, but we are inviting you to help in the ways we ARE able to help.

The money raised in this GoFundMe will be used primarily to relieve the financial stress accompanying a cancer diagnosis. That includes a high insurance deductible and large out-of-pocket co-payments. We also hope to use funds to bridge the gap between disability insurance and lost wages due to absences (particularly for her future surgery). As the new year rolls over, we will adjust the requested amount if there are new financial needs.

We have assured Sherrie that it is indeed a blessing to provide opportunities for others to help. You may need to remind her of that :). Money is a practical way to meet a need, but I also know that Sherrie so greatly values your continued prayers for her (and her family) in the days ahead.
