Let's help Shona get healthy again!

As many of you know, 8 months ago, Shona found herself experiencing one of the hardest physical set backs in all of her 29 years. She was hospitalized and diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and polymyocitis. Her flare up was nearly fatal and has left her with debilitating symptoms that she continues to experience daily.
As a result, Shona remains unable to work, leaving her no choice but to be away from her dream job. She is extremely passionate in her career, and her dedication and knowledge in the mental health field is admirable. Shona is so valued on the CYMH in-patient unit at McMaster Children’s Hospital, and she wants nothing more than to be able to return to work.
Over the last 8 months, Shona’s bright, charismatic personality and positive attitude have slowly dimmed, leaving her feeling hopeless and defeated. Although the aggressive treatment that she received saved her life, it hasn’t offered her the ability to be overly independent or energetic, like everybody knows her to be. Shona continues to be compliant with her medications and eats a very healthy, bland diet, but it doesn't seem to be enough.
Her current limitations are so devastating and we would love nothing more than to get the brightness back in her smile and the sparkle back in her beautiful blue eyes. Moving forward, Shona dreams of having the opportunity to trial a holistic approach (Naturopath/Homeopath), to hopefully progress and live a more fulfilling lifestyle. Unfortunately, this is a very costly method of treatment
