Let's Help the Gallaghers Fight Covid!

Hi, everyone. As we all know, Covid-19 is such a terrible, unpredictable disease, with sometimes no rhyme or reason to how severely it may affect someone. Unfortunately, my dear friends, Abby and Brian, and their two sweet school-aged kiddos have all had Covid in the past few weeks. Thankfully, the kids have recovered and are doing well. Abby is also on the mend after a rough course and treatment at home for pneumonia.

The reason I am writing today, is because of Brian. Brian is currently in the UVA ICU, needing increasing respiratory support and receiving remdesivir (the antiviral infusion). He is in good hands with a team of providers that have been communicating frequently with Abby, who is not able to be by his side. Being a veteran, we know that Brian is capable of putting up a good fight and has his good health and young age in his favor. Abby, as you would expect, is nervous, frightened, and probably many other words I can't even think of right now - but ever the intelligence and resourceful nurse she is, is getting all of the information she can to help understand this extremely stressful situation.

This family means a lot to me (and I know to others as well) and I hope by starting this we can ease some of the financial stress of this time, as that should really be the last thing on anyone's mind in a time like this.
