With over 120 lives lost and approximately 15,000 homes affected, the devastating fire that swept through the Valparaíso region left Chile in deep mourning. In two of the hardest-hit cities, Viña del Mar and Quilpué—located about 120 kilometers from the capital, Santiago—entire neighborhoods were reduced to ashes.
My name is Paz Navarro, and I am fundraising for the Miranda Quintana family, consisting of María José Miranda, her daughter Josefa (a classmate and close friend of my daughter Amanda for many years, and a neighbor), the baby Facundo, who is under a year old, and the father Pierre Quintana. They lost everything in the fire of February 2024 in Quilpué, Pompeya Norte. For months now, they have had to endure living in a tent through the harsh winter or staying with relatives who have generously offered them shelter. This year’s winter in Chile has been particularly severe, and our friends desperately need our support.
