Let's help Val cross the treatment finish line!

Our dear friend, Valerie, has been fighting the battle of her life. In January, Valerie was diagnosed with HER2 Positive stage 2 breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes under her arm. This is a very aggressive form of breast cancer BUT also very responsive to treatments! The doctors wasted no time and put together a plan of attack. This included 6 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy, then 25 radiation treatments over a period of 5 weeks, and lastly her reconstructive surgery. Valerie’s treatment plan has included everything!

Her immunotherapy will end in February and then she will be able to have her reconstructive surgery and hopefully have her medical port removed at the same time. The amazing news is that the plan has been working and her prognosis is a full recovery.

Valerie made it through her chemotherapy like a champ. The nurses were amazed at how her body handled it considering the aggressive chemo treatment she had been receiving. She recently had her mastectomy and is recovering very well. She had some trouble with a recurring seroma and also a case of Covid but is starting to feel herself again. She begins her 5 weeks of radiation on August 29th.

Valerie is an amazing mom of two sons, Marc and Michael. With their support, and the loving steadfast support of her life love and partner, Robert and his daughter and son, Angelina and Vince, she has had a rock-solid team behind her to help her fight this fight.

She has made it this far and we need to help her cross the finish line. Valerie was able to work part-time through some of the treatments but recently had to stop working due to the treatment she’s receiving. She hopes to be able to return to work following her radiation treatment but until then, she needs our help. Without working the costs of her insurance and medical care are piling up.

Valerie has insisted on doing this on her own, but we insisted that it was time to help. To help support the remainder of Valerie’s treatment and care we are setting up this fund to help provide funds for her insurance, medical bills, and living expenses to help get her to the finish line. No one should have to worry like this while fighting for their life.
