Let's Jump Start Nina Benson's Recovery

Hello Everyone, my name is Joe Salerno and I'm raising money for Nina and Andy Benson to help pay for expenses that have accumulated as a result of the medical care required to save Nina from death. After being resuscitated from cardiac arrest seven times in Fort Collins, Nina needed to be airlifted to the University of Colorado at Denver Anschutz Medical Campus to get the cardiac care she required. Thanks to the outstanding team of cardiologists at Anschutz and her implanted Boston Scientific pacemaker/defibrillator combo, Nina is now recovering at home and so happy to be back together with Andy, Lanie Rue, and the newest member of the family, Briggs. Nina has a chronic disease of the heart muscle and although the underlying root cause is still under investigation, I continually pray that a better understanding of the underlying disease will lead to the best possible treatment for extending Nina's years.

With so many of you wanting to help Andy and Nina, yet having limited options to do so in a meaningful way, some very smart people recommended that I set up this go fund site as an opportunity to contribute to Nina's recovery. While I hope and pray that none of us will ever meet the same fate as Nina, I am awed by the offsetting love and support coming from family and friends. So as Nina takes each new day in stride, she remains filled with overwhelming sense of appreciation for all the love and support from her family and friends and is extremely grateful that God truly listened to everyone's prayers.
