We Fill an Important Gap:
Liberia currently has very few public libraries. 88% of public schools in Liberia do not have libraries, limiting students' literacy development and world view. This is the gap we are filling.
Kids’ Educational Engagement Project (KEEP) was launched in 2014 to promote a reading culture among Liberian students by establishing safe, conducive, welcoming reading spaces.
We Need You:
KEEP has established 27 Reading Rooms in 10 counties. This fundraiser will add 3 reading rooms in Grand Cape Mount County and Sinoe County. We will also strengthen our computer literacy trainings and village savings programs.
- A $15 contribution enables us purchase a small chair (we need 225 pieces)
- A $20 contribution enables us purchase a large chair (we need 100 pieces)
- A $40 contribution enables us purchase a small table ( we need 40 pieces)
- A $75 contribution enables us purchase a large table (we need 15 pieces)
- A $250 donation covers reading session for a month at a reading Room (snacks, transportation for volunteers, photocopying)
- A $300 donation covers the training of up to 35 students in computer literacy a month.
- A $750 donation helps us support a village savings club.
We Value Credibility and Accountability:
KEEP is accredited by both the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and African Union ECOSOCC. We also maintain our 501(c3) status in the USA.
