Let’s Make Ava’s 6th Birthday a Happy One

Meet Ava. Ava hasn’t been dealt the greatest hand. Her mom hasn’t either.

 

Ava is the daughter of Jennifer Bender, PVHS Class of 1997. Jennifer raises Ava alone, with neither financial nor caretaking help from much of anyone. Did I mention Jenny’s doing this while fighting Stage 4 Cancer of the Small Bowel (currently has spread to the liver and lymph nodes) - not to be cured, but to live as along as she can for Ava. In pain, sick from both the cancer and the radiation, and atop full time parenting responsibilities, Jenny still manages to work one day a week. Can you imagine?

 

It’s been over 7 years since you all came through for me. And, just 2 1/2 years ago our heart and lives were touched once again through the generosity of my kiddos’ elementary school’s faculty and parents, as well as local vendors when they helped me throw a joint surprise birthday party for my kiddos shortly following the unexpected passing of their dad. It was a day neither my kids nor I will ever forget.

 

Jenny has never asked anyone for anything. When I asked her when her next radiation treatment was however, and she responded with a date in the first week of November, followed by 2 days before Ava’s birthday followed by a :-( however, it hit me!

 

And, it’s the least I/we could do.

 

Help me help Jen throw Ava an incredible 6th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese’s! It will be Ava’s first big party with school friends. It’ll help take the pressure off Jen. And, it’ll be super special.

 

To top things off, I’ve already purchased an iPad for Ava (from Mom) - not only a gift she wants so, so very much, but one that saved me and my kids from losing our minds during those 4 years I battled to save my leg and walk again. To be where I am today wouldn’t have been possible without all of you; I couldn’t be more grateful to “pay it forward”!

 

To throw Ava an all-inclusive party, with cake and decorations and an iPad, plus child friendly pink case from Mom, we need just another $295!!!

 

Beyond that, your  contributions will be set aside to ensure Xmas is special for Ava, Jenny too!  

 

Sadly, there’s no way of knowing how many birthdays and Christmas’s these two have left together to share. Any and all assistance to help me help Jen give her baby girl the party she deserves, without unnecessary stresses, is appreciated.
