“This disorder will rob him of all the milestones he gains in his first year of life by the time he turns 2 and will ultimately take his life, unless we do something about it”
Thank you for your interest! We the friends of Pashai family are hosting a fundraiser to help them get funds to support their two sons, Mohammad and Sufyan, with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD).
The Pashais found that their sweet son, Mohammad, had MLD when he was failing to walk. After genetic testing of the rest of the family, they found that their other son, 4-month old Sufyan, also has MLD. Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) is a highly progressive and rare genetic disorder that is fatal read more at https://www.curemld.com/.
The diagnosis of Mohammad came too late, he was too far progressed for any treatments to help. He has already lost the ability to walk, stand, move, speak, and he struggles frequently with respiratory distress, often being hospitalized for respiratory failure.
Because Sufyan was caught before symptom onset, he is eligible for the life-saving gene therapy treatment.
Doctors are optimistic that they can help Sufyan with this intervention, saving his life if we can act quickly.
Without proper treatment, Sufyan will progress and lose abilities just like his brother. But with your help, we can save Sufyan’s life.
The Pashais will have to quit their job in order to take care of both of their children, and they will be traveling back and forth to Minnesota for multiple hospital visits during their son’s treatment.
It is a parent’s worst nightmare for their child to be diagnosed with a fatal disease. And the thought of losing TWO children to the same fatal disease is just unbearable. We need your help to support them during this time of need as this family helped our troops and put their lives in danger.
Please donate any amount you can, to help lessen this family’s loss.
