Let’s Put Dale in His Place

Dale Hoyt, our crazy, weird, brilliant and irreverent artist friend always took his dates to the San Francisco Columbarium. Dale was fascinated by this grand and historic, fabulously ornate and domed edifice where people deposit ashes of dead friends and relatives. Sadly, Dale is now dead. So it’s time to send Dale home to his favorite place. To secure an accessible spot in the Columbarium for Dale's ashes we need to raise $13,000. We need your help to achieve this dream. Please join us to Put Dale In His Place! Interring his ashes there will allow those moved by his work, his writings, and his life to have a special place to visit him, and to ruminate. It will be an enduring and loving tribute to an amazing person and artist. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us to fulfill this final wish for Dale.
Warmly,
Special Friends of Dale Hoyt
In the words of Glenn R. Philips, Senior Curator, Getty Research Institute: “The first time I saw Dale Hoyt’s work it felt like my skull had been removed and I’d been punched in the brain. He was a curator’s dream… he never ceased his lifelong pursuit of perfect beauty through dissonance. The wicked and incisive intelligence of his video work was and still is a joyful shock…”
