Let's Rally for Alex!

Hello everyone - my name is Princeton and I am one of Katie's pediatric residency classmates.

In January 2024, our very own Alex Gonring underwent a chest x-ray to evaluate a chronic cough and voice changes. It (and following workup) revelated an aggressive cancer affecting the heart, lungs, diaphragm, blood vessels, and beyond. His workup is still ongoing but suffice it to say that this is devastating, serious, and completely unexpected.

This compounds all the recent changes and transitions for the Gonring family: the recent move to Seattle, buying a home, Katie's career taking off, school loans, continuing to chase around a toddler, and now - unanticipated medical bills, work and income interruptions, life upended.

As his (and Katie's, and Aubrey's - also Winston and Schmidty!) community of friends and family - we of course want to help in any way we can. Since so many of us are scattered across the country, donating our resources is one clear and effective way to send your love and care. We want Alex and the family to be able to focus fully on his workup, treatment, and full recovery - without any added distractions like worrying about finances.

Please rest assured that all funds raised will route directly to Katie and Alex, and that they did not ask us to put this together. They have been present and available for us in so many ways over the years - it's our turn to step up and give back.
