Let's Save Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church
DONATE TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION
Friends of Mt. Zion Church of Thomas County, Inc. resumed our mission in August, 2021 to restore, preserve and sustain the historic and cultural legacy of Mt. Zion church building and graveyard. The project includes both interior and exterior restoration and will be restored to how it looked when it was built around 1842. Preservation Architect and Historic Architects/consultants certify
the old structure worthy of restoration and preservation. Work will occur in phases prioritized according to recommendations from these professional architects.
Phase I - preliminary cost estimate - $25,000
Phase II - cost estimate pending
Designation on the National Registry of Historic Places - additional $5,000
