Help Rachel Win in the Fight Against Blindness

Imagine waking up unable to see! The thought alone is terrifying, but this was rachel's reality. Unable to see out of her left eye, she was rushed to an ophthalmologist where she was diagnosed and treated for retinopathy and bleeding in the eye. She was then advised to also treat the right eye because of the diagnosis. However that didn't go well as the course of treatments used made the situation worse and as a result she had to seek medical treatment from a retinal specialist for retinal detachment in both eyes, an elevated eye pressure of 57 (normal range is 10-21) and swelling in the back of the eye.

Rachel has had a series of medical treatments to correct her vision since August 2019 to present. However COVID restrictions, protocols and lock downs resulted in surgeries being canceled and pushed back making the chances of saving her left eye slim.

Unfortunately she has lost the vision in her left eye and is actively fighting to save the remaining vision in her right eye. These unforseen turn of events have forced Rachel into unemployment. Rachel has exhausted all options here in Barbados and is on a quest to raise funds to travel to the USA for medical care.

Please help her save her right eye and get the care she needs.
