Let’s show Dawn how much we love & support her!

This is Dawn.

My friend from university, Dawn (Wamback) Nickerson, who you may remember as Dawner - the fun, friendly, bubbly, curly headed girl on 11th. Or you might know her as a mother, or a grandmother, as a local artist, or as your nurse from a stay in the hospital - is now very sick herself.

Like many kids raised in the 80s, she said nothing and kept working. It’s all easily explained away pain - you know how it is stress, working too hard etc. - until it isn’t and suddenly you are 2.5 years into some type of battle you didn’t even know you were fighting.

She had a good job and worked hard as an LPN, had a daughter and now a granddaughter, who live with her. She’s had a life or ups and downs, and has worked hard to provide for herself and her family. Like we all do, when suddenly, she’s not able to do that.

And now she’s sick and waiting to see a neurologist. Travelling to Halifax monthly (from Yarmouth) to treat symptoms, and unable to work. These days her mom is driving her, as her stamina deteriorates.

Waiting for disability to kick in. Which never covers things completely, so in need of help, with not a lot of options, we decided to launch this go fund me.
