Let’s show our ❤️ For Beth McCoy !!

Beth McCoy is a radiant spirit that brings laughter wherever she goes, but most of us know her fondly as Mrs. McCoy, the exuberant 1st grade teacher at Hidden Valley Elementary, who on any given day can be found cracking jokes with her students, creating a priceless bond that brings them comfort and encourages joyous growth! Beth has always given to the children and families of Hidden Valley and the surrounding community, and now it is our chance to give back to her. Beth has had an immensely challenging few months, tragically and unexpectedly losing both her father and her younger brother over the holidays. She hasn't even been given time to grieve these losses, and yet here she is, hit with more terrible news. Unfortunately, Beth has been diagnosed with cancer, which has spread to a few areas. You'd never have known she was in such discomfort if you caught her on campus recently, ever her lively and smiling self amongst her beloved students and peers. Beth will begin treatment immediately, and as such, her last day in the classroom for this school year will be this Friday, February 25th.

We know, however, that Beth is also not a fan of being the center of attention, so we would like to show her love without overwhelming her. We hope to send her on her way to treatment with as many well wishes as possible! We are asking that any students or families, current or past, that would like to show support, please make an encouraging card or a loving letter for Mrs. McCoy! This Friday any well wishes, cards, pictures, letters from students, flowers, etc will be gathered for her in the school library. We will be gathering gift cards for door dash, local restaurants, and the like to help provide nourishment to her body in these hard times. And last, but certainly not least, there will also be a GoFundMe account to help ease the financial burdens ahead. Being away from school means not only that Beth will be missing the smiles of her students, but also the necessary income to pay her upcoming medical bills.

In summary - if you have words to share, please send cards as soon as possible. If you are able to donate a meal, please watch for information on when/where to submit gift cards. If you are able to contribute financially, ANY amount is absolutely appreciated.

Many hands make for light work... so let us join ours together, wrap her with our love, and do whatever we can to lighten her load so that she may focus on healing.
