Let's support Coach Lev & Buffy as TJ fights for her life!

Hi there!

My name is Dee Brinkley - I am here today to tell the story of one of my best friends, Buffy Leverington!

She and TJ (in the pic) got married on 10/13/2024.

Fast forward to December (after a few trials that have occurred since they got married, including TJ breaking her shoulder), Monday, December 9th, TJ fell sick. Buffy attempted to try to take care of her, but as many know, TJ is very stubborn and wants to do things on her own.

As the week progressed, TJ didn't get any better, so Buffy had to attempt to do what she could to convince TJ to go to the hospital. It didn't work, so they got in the car to take TJ to work, as her heart definitely lies with her students and she can't stand missing out on being a part of their lives. She wanted to get in there to get back to it.

Buffy had to tell TJ she was taking her to school to go to work, but instead took her straight to the ER where they were admitted immediately.

TJ has been in CCU since she got there, on a ventilator and life support, fighting for her life. She is currently in heart failure and fighting pneumonia.

This is today's update, directly from Buffy -

One week in... they did another breathing trial this morning and she failed it worse than yesterday's trial. They have worked hard since to calm her down... they plan on trying again between 11 and 12.

Prayers are needed big time... keep 'em rolling in. We need our village!!!!

I have someone picking up the dogs so that's one worry off of my shoulders. Now I can completely concentrate on TJ and even more on myself.

Also, after this week... I'd like to say to the stubborn people (myself included)... if a loved one expresses concern for your well-being and asks you to please tend to it... do it. Just effin do it.

Wednesday I asked her to see her primary doctor, she said wait until tomorrow. By Thursday I was begging her to go to the ER and by early Friday morning she's full code, on life support, and fighting for her life. Below is picture proof of where being stubborn can land you.
