Let’s Help Lo - mtf gender surgery

Hi! I’m Lo, and I’m a trans woman taking the next step on her journey, which is gender reassignment surgery. It’s been quite a journey so far. Like all meaningful experiences this has been difficult. I made the decision to finally transition about a year and a half ago. It was the best decision of my life. Starting hormone replacement therapy, buying an entire new wardrobe, coming out, changing my name and gender on IDs, going into work as my authentic self. All very difficult and expensive—but necessary—things I did last year. And I’ve made so many great friends, or rekindled old friendships, all because of this. I’m a much better, and kinder, and happy person now that the stress of dysphoria is being battled. But the fight is not over. For me, there is one last big step: gender reassignment surgery. This is what people mean when they ask, “have you had [dramatic music] THE SURGERY?” The one part of my body that still doesn’t fit is...down *there.* And it must go! With this surgery I can finally, fully, live as the woman I was meant to be.


I’ve done all the essential steps one needs to take and my surgery is coming on Wednesday, October 3rd! I have some money saved up. I have insurance to pay some of it. But there are still thousands of dollars left to be found. There are deductibles and copays, hotel stays for a few days to a week after release from the hospital, and assorted things needed during the 8-12 week recovery. I will continue to do what I can to save. But I do need some help. Whatever you can afford, it can be a trifle, the amount isn’t important. I know there are kind people still in this crazy, mixed up world. People who want to help other people. Help me save enough to pay for this surgery, which is so meaningful to me and my future. Help with whatever you can. My appreciation will be boundless, truly.
