House Fire ~Help for Thomas & Misty(Barron) Miller

My name is Michelle Breedlove and I have created this fundraiser for Thomas and Misty Miller, two people who have a very long history of ALWAYS helping others(myself included). I've known Misty for well over 30 years and she is a stellar human being. Just last year, Misty(a well loved Junior High Teacher) went so far as to promise her students, she would shave her head if the school could meet its elevated fundraising goal... and you know what? They hit that goal and she shaved her head! She's just that kind of awesome. 

Two nights ago, a house fire swept through the Miller home destroying everything. Everything except for the lives of she, her husband and their pets... it happened at night and it happened fast. Misty had gone to sleep, but fortunately her husband(an over the road driver) was home, awake, and alert enough to wake his sleeping wife, grab the pets and get them all out.

The rest, is gone. The house is likely a total loss, and thus begins a long road of accepting the loss of precious and irreplaceable things. Things that for each of us are different, but that we all have. Family photos, mementos, silly trinkets with sentimental value.

Imagine wrapping up your Thanksgiving holiday and setting your sights on Christmas( like we all did) only to watch your home and all the things inside it disappear in a night. Your favorite pillow. Your go-to sweatshirt, your favorite pair of scissors... All of your socks, shoes, pants, skirts... you underwear and all your bras(even the uncomfortable one you never wear) it's gone too. The sofa with a depression in it that matched the size and shape of your fanny, because it YOUR spot, on your sofa... That's gone!

When I spoke with Misty today, there was a glimmer of hope that a few family heirlooms from her grandmothers were tucked safely into a hutch. A hutch, that although it is covered in the ashen charred remains of the house that once stood around it, appears to have not burned... So please put your prayer pants on and pray that there are some little miracles to be found amongst the remains of once lovely home for these very lovely people.

I'm going to close this message by asking you to help the Miller family. My friends Misty and Thomas who have led their lives by example, volunteering and helping others for as long as i can remember. Thomas and Misty Miller are natural born helpers... but right now THEY could use a litter help from their friends and I'd like to help facilitate that.

Any and all funds raised here will go directly to Thomas and Misty Miller.
