Letters From Santa 2023

Donation protected
Welcome to the 3rd annual Letters from Santa project, and thanks for your interest! I want to spark more joy in the hearts of children in Washington (and beyond!) this holiday season, but I need your help. Before I dive into Santa's financials and how you can contribute, here's the lowdown:

Kids write letters to Santa every year, so I want them to receive a letter back. A bright, red, cheery "Letters to Santa" mailbox will be displayed this holiday season in front of 15926 NE 135th Street in Redmond, Washington. I'm encouraging all Santa believers to drop a letter in the box so they can get a handwritten note back (with an authentic touch, of course). If you are reading this and don't live in the area, send me an email , and I'll make sure your family gets a letter (please do not write to the address above).

To receive a letter from Santa, we need the following:
--a legible name for Santa to write to
--a legible address (anywhere in the United States!)

The last day to drop off your letters is 12/18/23.

Now, to the financials. Here's a summary of the current costs of pulling together this initiative (to date):

1. Cost per letter from Santa (includes stationary, envelope, first-class stamp): $1.14
2. GoFundMe transaction fee: 2.9% + USD .30

A small donation is appreciated (but entirely optional) to keep this operation running. All proceeds above the overhead costs will go to Seattle Trans And Nonbinary Choral Ensemble on or before January 3, 2024. In the last two years we donated almost $1,000 combined to Children's Hospital Colorado and Children's National Hospital Foundation in Seattle. Thank you in advance for your support!

Here's a sample letter of what your child can expect. Siblings will receive variations for authenticity purposes. (If your child has received letters in the past, this year's letter will be different!)

Dear ____.

I am here enjoying my hot cocoa, and a little birdie tells me you have earned your way to the top of the nice list. WOW! Everyone here at the North Pole is very impressed with everything you have accomplished this year. Mrs. Claus and I are proud of you, too!

The elves and I have been very busy preparing the PERFECT holiday gifts for you, and Rudolph and the gang have been getting the sleigh ready for our big trip around the world. Can you believe I outgrew my suit again this year? Mrs. Claus is making the alterations as we speak.

As you can tell, a lot is going on here, but we're looking forward to our stop in (name of state) this year - all because of YOU!

Don't forget to hang your stocking with care! (Oh, and Rudolph says a few reindeer snacks would be greatly appreciated.)

Merry Christmas and Warmest Wishes,
