Leukemia Can Take a Hike!
Tax deductible
Luck is an interesting thing. Two and a half years ago, I got some of the worst luck imaginable. I found out my wife had Acute Myeloid Leukemia. We were away from our daughters for over a month as my wife received treatment. On December 17th, 2021, I received some of the best luck I could receive, the chemotherapy was working and my wife would not need a bone marrow biopsy. After those two years, my wife is still in remission and every morning I feel like the luckiest man in the world.
This past January I received even more good luck. On my first attempt at a permit, I was able to gain access to the John Muir Trail in California. This has been a bucket list item for me, and the permit lottery rate is about 2%. Over the next 3 weeks, I will be traveling 211 miles with my friend Bobby Nyland. And I figured why not use my good luck to help others who are have some bad luck at the moment? I am hiking for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) and hope to raise some money for this great organization. I will donate one dollar for every mile I hike and would love if you could contribute. Every dollar helps in the fight against this terrible disease. I plan to be on the trail for 15 days, so a 15 dollar contribution would be a great place to start! Or better yet, tag three friends and go on a hike and donate the number of miles you spend on the trails! Together, let’s spread some good luck and tell Leukemia and Lymphoma to take a hike!
