Hit and Run Family Car Fund

Dear friends and family,

I’m reaching out to ask for your help. My car was recently involved in a hit-and-run while it was parked. My insurance is unable to provide coverage for the hit and run and we do not have any information on the driver. The damage to the car is beyond extensive, and I cannot afford the repairs or a replacement out of pocket.

The collision happened between the hours of 2 am and 5 am on Monday 5/29. I was walking to my car to head to work in the morning and to my shock, my car was side-swiped onto the sidewalk! I found pieces of my car everywhere in the street along with pieces of the other car that hit mine. (Photos below).

As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly stressful and difficult time for me and the boys without a car. This was our family car. We have so many memories in this car from bringing the boys home from the hospital, road trips, grocery runs, and the commuter car to work and school. I’m pretty overwhelmed with sadness and anger that this happened.

That's why we are asking for your support today. We are hoping to raise enough funds to cover the cost of repairs or a replacement, so we can continue to have transportation to work and school. Every little bit helps, and we are grateful for any support you can offer. I also will greatly appreciate any advice and recommendations for a body shop or tow service.

If you know me, it’s very difficult for me to ask for help. But I have been convinced it doesn’t hurt to ask our community for help sometimes. Your generosity will make a huge difference for us. Thank you so much!
