Level the Playing Field for Our Vaulters

Hello all!

My name is Joseph. I am a high school pole vault coach, as well as a volunteer club coach out of Washington state.

I am making this request page in order to expand the capabilities of the 2 programs I work for. The high school and club team that is run out of the same location as the high school share poles as well as a pole budget (which is $0). I have spent much of my own stipend from high school slowly trying to buy poles, but also know this is not a sustainable solution. In an event that favors the economically well off, I would like to close that gap. As part of the club team, I offer free vaulting to every athlete in surrounding districts, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to do more vaulting, or would cost them an arm and a leg to do so. Additionally, I’d love to buy a selection of pole vault poles geared towards smaller and younger learners. Especially my young women learning to vault, anywhere ages 10-17, where they may need these smaller poles to learn on. Especially in a time where more than 50% of our young girls are leaving organized sports, I’d love to give them an outlet and a reason to stay!

I’d love if you can share or donate, in hopes of helping build these programs, and slowly dismantle the financial inequality in our sport that is at times, extremely expensive. My current goal is $5,000, that should get roughly ten (10) smaller poles to start my interested middle schoolers, and my smaller highschoolers.
