Lewis’ Fundraising Trip to The Great Wall of China

For years I’ve wanted to do a fundraiser in the name of my brother Greg, who we sadly lost on the 12th May 2020. I’ve been trying and trying to think of the biggest, most extraordinary thing and I really think I’ve found it.
I am going to be splitting the amount raised to 2 charities, the first one being the Sunrise Partnership who provide free, therapeutic confidential support for children and young people affected by loss or bereavement. They helped a member of my family process and open up about the loss of my brother, and I’m forever greaful for this.
The second charity is going to MHA Mental Health Aberdeen is a local charity that provides free counselling and information services to children, young people and adults experiencing difficulties related to their mental health and wellbeing.
I am going to be setting my target at £5,000 which would be an astonishing amount to raise. And that’s why I am starting the fundraiser now! Another reason why I am starting now is because I have just booked, paid for and confirmed my trip to China, to Trek on the Great Wall of China in May 2025. NOT the whole wall, as this would take 18 months haha. I will be trekking up to 8 hours a day.
Next year on the 12th May 2025 it will be 5 years since I lost my brother. and next year will also be his 30th birthday. I know that Greg has absolutely no connection to China, or the Great Wall of China, but I just wanted the fundraiser to be so unique! I can’t think of a better way to honour Greg than to raise money in his name for charities who help and support families similar to mines.
