Lewiston HS Mock Trial Nationals Competition
Donation protected
Our mock trial team has worked very hard to succeed and we are now trying to raise enough money to go to the national competition in May. Mock trial is one of the most challenging extra-curricular activities a student can do. For those who don’t know what mock trial is, we are given a case at the beginning of the school year, we study the case, take roles as lawyers and witnesses, and practice, practice, practice until our competitions start. Over the past month we competed against different high school teams and on Monday, December 5th, we prevailed in the state finals. In the 30 years that Lewiston has been competing in the Maine high school mock trial competition, we have only won states one other time. Many schools worked hard to achieve what we achieved this year. Many schools across the country have fought for the amazing opportunity we have worked so hard for. We are now invited to compete in the national high school mock trial championship in Little Rock, Arkansas. We need funding to go to this national championship. The price tag of bringing our team to Arkansas is high. The estimated cost is $18,000. We are trying to raise $8,000 through GoFundme. We know this is a lot, but Lewiston is not commonly known for winning academic championships. This is a chance for our community to make a positive statement about the quality of academics in Lewiston, Maine. We hope you can help!
