Lexia Core 5 Reading for K Students

Hi! My name is Christine Lewis and I am a kindergarten teacher at Strawberry Hill Elementary School. Recently, Stamford Public Schools have cut funding for technology applications that support literacy. It is now up to the school to provide the funding for these programs. Our school has decided it is not in their budget to provide these programs. The Kindergarten Team is looking to buy Lexia Core 5, a literacy software designed to empower students and accelerate learning growth in literacy. This is an extremely useful tool in a kindergarten classroom while we do small group rotations. There is a K teacher and paraprofessional in each classroom with around 20 kids. Each small group contains between 4-5 students. While the other groups who are not with the teacher or para work on independent work, they can also use Lexia as a tool to strengthen their skills. The total for 95 students is $3,800 which is $40 per student.
