In memory of Leyva Oregel

Our beloved Leyva Oregel tragically lost her life to domestic violence sometime between 7/1/23-7/4/23. Leyva was tragically taken from us and most importantly from her two young daughters, 5 and 12-years old at the hands of her ex-husband. Leyva was only 33 years old. Leyva was reported missing on 7/2/23 when she did not return home from work. She was last seen leaving her home in Guadalupe, CA, with her ex-husband German Armando Luna Salazar on 7/1/23, who is now being sought by authorities for her murder.

The family is devastated by this hurtful, unexpected loss and is not financially prepared for expenses such as maintaining a home, food, and meeting other essential needs for her daughters who were left without a mother and father and now in the care of Leyva’s mother. Leyva was a hardworking, independent woman who was eager to learn and grow. She worked tirelessly to build her janitorial business and learned the business side by attending courses through Women’s Economic Ventures of Santa Barbara. She was a loving and caring mother to her two daughters and always wanted to provide the best to them. Her spirit and cheerful personality will forever be with us. Nuestra querida Leyva Oregel perdió trágicamente su vida por violencia doméstica en algún momento entre la tarde de el dia primero de Julio y el 4 de Julio del 2023. Leyva fue arrebatada trágicamente de nosotros y lo más importante de sus dos hijas pequeñas, de 5 y 12 años, a manos de su ex esposo. Leyva solo tenía 33 años. Leyva fue reportada como desaparecida el 7/1/2023 cuando no regresó a casa del trabajo. Fue vista por última vez saliendo de su casa en Guadalupe, CA, con su ex esposo Germán Armando Luna Salazar el 1 de julio de 2023, quien ahora está siendo buscado por las autoridades por su asesinato.
