Cancer Fund For Clay Warren
Donation protected
My husband Clay, is 54 years of age. He was a truck driver for over 15 years. He donated blood every year with the other drivers. The last two times he went to donate, they turned him away stating he was anemic. He did not seek out his doctor to find out why.
We were leaving for our first vacation in 11 years when he said he felt very sick and his lower stomach was hurting terribly. I took him to Trident emergency room. There the doctor that examined him said he thought he had colon cancer. The tests came back positive. He was admitted and was operated on for colon cancer, taking out 2 feet of his large intestines and part of his pancreas. That was eight years ago.
Two years after his first diagnosis of cancer, we found out he had colon cancer in his stomach. They operated and took 2/3rds of his stomach. Two and a half years went by and the cancer was back, this time in his liver, which later spread to his lungs. He has had many chemo treatments, and at times seemed the chemo was shrinking the cancer. Then last year the chemo quit working. His oncologist tried a different chemo, that in time also quit having an affect on the cancer. His oncologist, Dr. Charles Holiday, suggests he go to Duke University Hospital to get treatment there.
As you may know, disability barely pays the bills. We are in need of help with rooming, travel and co-payments on treatments. Anything your heart leads you to help with will be greatly appreciated. Clay is a very happy go lucky person and wants to live to see his grand children grow up and marry, his family needs him. He has a lot of life to live but needs the help of others to get through this and find a cure for him. We ask that you keep Clay and myself in your prayers. May God bless and keep you.
