LGBTQ Rainbow Crosswalks at Castro Valley Schools

Castro Valley Pride is an eleven year old organization that works to bring awareness, community and opportunities to celebrate the diversity of our LGBTQ community members. We host an annual pride festival, outreach to local faith leaders and participate in community events. Additionally, we have given away nearly 2,000 pride flags to classrooms in and around Castro Valley, CA.
This year, Castro Valley Pride is working with a group of Castro Valley High School students to fundraise for the installation of rainbow crosswalks at school sites across Castro Valley Unified School District. Such action would require the majority of the members of the School Board to support this project and conversations are currently underway with the Superintendent.
Should the School Board not support this project, funds would be used to support both Castro Valley Pride and the Castro Valley High School Gay-Straight Alliance Club.
