Li Zhen Wu Memorial Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Chelsea Hill and I live in Saco on Bradley Street. I started this fundraiser on behalf of many neighbors and community friends who were saddened to hear about the death of Mrs. Li Zhen Wu, known as "Ms. Li" by so many people in our neighborhood. Ms. Li is pictured on the left in the photo of this fundraiser, with her husband Song Li and granddaughter Rossy Nguyen.

Ms. Li and her husband are fixtures of our neighborhood, known by many as the kind pair who, without fail and in all types of weather, collected items for bottle redemption around the neighborhood, pushing shopping carts loaded with their items each week, usually on Thursdays and Fridays.

Ms. Li was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle this week on Wednesday, November 1st, on Spring Street in Saco, near her home. This was the second time Ms. Li has been struck by a vehicle in our neighborhood - the last time was in February 2022, where she was hit and injured in a hit-and-run crash. The person who hit her in February 2022 has never been identified.

As a community, so many are devastated at this news. We hope that whatever amount we are able to collect is a symbol of the kindness and love of strangers in our little corner of Maine. Thank you in advance for any amount you can give.

Before initiating this fundraiser, I received the blessing of both Ms. Li's daughter and granddaughter. They are both so appreciative of our community and already grateful for this effort to assist with the costs incurred by this tragedy, lost income to the family, and funeral expenses.

100% of the funds collected will be given to the family of Ms. Li.
