Liam Whitworth & Family Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Beth Tippins and I am Liam Whitworth’s godmother and aunt.
After months of dealing with recurrent ear pain, infections, drainage and multiple appointments, Liam woke up from his nap on August 10th with blood on his pillow. His parents knew something wasn’t right and took him to Akron Children's Emergency Department where they performed a head CT that showed two large masses in his right ear and nasopharynx area. He was admitted to Akron Children's Hospital and had a biopsy performed on August 12th. During the biopsy, the surgeon was able to resect 99% of the nasopharynx tumor but was unable to remove the ear tumor due to nerve involvement. On August 19th the test results confirmed Breanna and Kyle's worst nightmare - Liam had Rhabdomyosarcoma - a rare cancer that forms in the soft tissue. On August 22nd, Liam underwent a bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture, CT and other testing to get the oncology team ready for battle. Liam was taken to surgery on August 29th to have his port placed to ease some of the discomfort from repeatedly getting "pokes" for lab draws and chemo. Liam will undergo months of treatment including chemo, radiation, and at home medications to fight this.
Liam is one of the sweetest 5 year old boys I know. He can light up a room when he is in it and can make anyone smile and laugh. He is a lover of all things golf, bowling, GhostBusters, and Pokémon, often bringing along his buddy Chomper (Slimer) on adventures.
Liam is a fighter and will defeat “King Rhabdo” as he calls it with the love and support of friends and family. I want to help ease some of the financial stress that will come with hospital stays, hotel stays, and many treatments over the next several
months for the Whitworth family.
