24 Peaks for Kirsty

Hello and thank you for reading my fundraising page. As you know now, my wonderful Wife Kirsty was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour in October 2021. Thankfully her fantastic surgeons took great care of her and managed to remove her tumour. However, her battle is ongoing and it is always something she is going to have to fight. At the end of last year we had a big scare when one of Kirsty’s routine brain scans flagged a change in behaviour within her tumours cavity. It was looking like she would have to endure yet more surgery followed by both radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Thankfully her scans since have showed no further changes so currently we just watch and wait. Kirsty’s fight is ongoing with this tumour so I will never stop fighting with her. I will keep trying to raise money for the Brainstorm Charity to hopefully help keep her safe and well. Therefore I will be taking on a new charity challenge this year with some close friends again. We set the bar high last year by completing the National 3 Peaks in under 24 hours so this year we have raised the bar further. On 19th August we will be taking on the 24 highest peaks in the Lake District, again including England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. At around 12,500ft of total ascent, most people when they do this challenge do it over 2 days. We will be doing it in just 1 and aiming to complete all 24 Peaks and 32 miles of trekking in 18 hours straight! 1.
