Liam's Gender-Affirming Top Surgery

Who is Liam?

 

Liam (he/him) is a 36-year-old member of our East York community. He is a husband, a father of a 13 year old and a 10 year old, a friend, and a determined mature student working toward his Ontario high school diploma. Having arrived in Canada as a refugee just two years ago, Liam recently received his permanent residency status and is finally able to access trans-affirming healthcare.

 

Liam's top surgery is scheduled on January 6, 2022, at the Women's College Hospital in Toronto. This is long-awaited and very exciting news! Unfortunately, some expenses associated with this gender-affirming procedure are not covered by OHIP, and he only has until December 28, 2021, to pay the balance. Liam needs your help to make this happen.

The timeline for raising the money to fund Liam's life-changing and life-saving procedure is tight, but we are hopeful that with our community's support, Liam's top surgery will happen as planned in the new year.
