Liam’s Hospital Fund

Hi everyone, my name is Liam & I’m 27 years old. This past Friday, 7/14, I self administered my prescribed medication via a subcutaneous shot when suddenly my body began to collapse, my vision went black, and I lost consciousness. I proceeded to have what looked like a seizure for the next 45-60 seconds on my partners bathroom floor while they did all they could to help. Once I came to, I was in such a distressed state and still feeling so out of it and sick that we needed to call 911 for an ambulance to take me to the hospital.

Once I arrived at the hospital they were able to do preliminary testing to rule out any major complication such as a brain bleed, but decided to admit me to the hospital in order to run further testing to understand why I’m potentially having a seizure for the first time in my life. This is all extremely terrifying and the hardest part, expensive. I don’t have any sort of health insurance and make less than $20/hr at my retail job, the costs that I’m accumulating by needing to stay 3+ nights in the hospital on top of expensive testing such as CTs, MRIs, and EEGs are way over my head to be able to afford. To make things worse, since this happened while visiting my partner in Maryland and I’m not a Maryland resident, I was told financial assistance could be more difficult than it normally would be. This has all led me to the decision to make a gofundme as I feel there’s no other viable option to even begin to comprehend affording what is in front of me after this incident. I’m doing all I can to talk to the social work department in order to see what financial assistance and charity programs I can qualify for and potentially get help through, but in the meantime I’m at a point where I’m having to decide if I can afford further testing or not and that’s a terrifying decision to have to make. My health or money.

So if you can help spare anything at all that can potentially go towards these bills that are hopefully going to get my answers as to what is going on, I’d be extremely grateful.
