Lia’s Stem Cell Treatment
Donation protected
My daughter Lia was born September 12, 2005. Shortly after she was born she got jaundice. At 9 days old her bilirubin shot up to 44 causing a brain hemorrhage. She received a total blood exchange which saved her life. The result of all this left her with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and auditory neuropathy. This was life changing for the whole family. At 3 months old she started her life long journey to recovery and began physical and occupational therapy. With hard work and dedication by 2 yrs old she was able to scoot on her back. By 3 yrs old she was able to sit up. By 4 yrs old she walked across the room on Christmas Eve. It was the best Christmas ever. At 5yrs old she said Mama for the first time and I cried my eyes out. To hear your child call you mama for the first time is the best feeling in the world. She is mostly non verbal but over the yrs she has been able to do some sign language. She is smart and a very determined little girl. She has over come so much and has achieved a lot more than what people thought she would. Recently we found a Dr. here in San Antonio that does nonembryonic stem cell treatment. This treatment has a 77% chance success rate in patients with cerebral palsy. This treatment could help heal Lia and she could possibly be off all medications. The procedure is $4,500 and insurance does not cover this procedure. My work has graciously donated $3000. So I am asking to help raise money for the remaining amount which is $1500. The procedure is set to be done on May 9th. Any amount of donation is appreciated. Thank you.
