Libby's volunteer trip to Ghana.

Hey everyone,
In February 2020 I will be travelling to the Akuapem Hills in Ghana for 2 months as part of a volunteer programme with Projects Abroad. During my 2 month stay I will be taking part in the construction project to help build classrooms, toilets and homes while also volunteering in the local schools. I will then be participating in the public health project to help give free health care in order to screen for infectious diseases such as; malaria, HIV and AIDS, and to provide outreach programmes to help people with sanitation, hygiene and nutritional awareness.
In order to participate in this project I will need to raise €5500 to cover the flights, placement fees, building materials, medical equipment, vaccinations and kit costs.
The agency that I am travelling with; Projects Abroad is an entirely independent organisation that does not receive any funding from governments, religious bodies, political parties, development organisations or other external sources. They don’t request any money from the partnering organisations in the developing world so that they can maximise the benefit of hosting volunteers.
I know, especially at this time of year, there are so many amazing charities who need support, but I hope you will consider helping me to provide basic healthcare and infrastructure to a community in need. Every little bit helps!
