Writing for Liberation

Donation protected
RaceBaitR  and EFNIKS are independent platforms that consistently produce radical content with Liberation in mind. Respectively, our platforms exclusively produce content from emerging Black writers and writers of color. Our platforms thrive on original content, edited and published consistently and often and we compensate writers for their work.

Given our mutual commitment to a free future, a recognition and devotion to the belief in paying writers, and our willingness to create a world that is not yet here, we decided to partner in raising necessary funds for the continued growth of our platforms.

All funds raised will be used for pay raises for writers and staff and website re-design to boost reader engagement.

From now until August 31st, we are aiming to reach these goals:
Goal 1: $1,000 [REACHED!!!]
Goal 2: $2,500

After fees, 5% of all monies raised will support the Black Giving Fund, and the remaining 95% will be split evenly between RaceBaitR and EFNIKS.

RACEBAITR (meet the staff)
Mission:
RaceBaitR is a platform created to explore the various ways race is expressed and defined with the goal of creating a world without all of its intersecting oppressions. Some might call this race baiting. Okay. This space is dedicated to imagining and working toward a world outside of the white supremacist cisheteropatriarchal capitalistic gaze with a particular attention to the function of anti-Blackness. Those who insist on wielding that gaze can call us what you like. We aren’t talking to you. We're proud that all of our funding comes from donations, and we are unable to pay contributors without community support.

Submissions: If you're an emerging Black writer with thoughts of Liberation,we look forward to hearing from you.

EFNIKS (meet the staff)
Mission:
EFNIKS.com has been building community space for Queer & Trans People of Color since April of 2017. QTPoC are our focus: our issues, our culture, our excellence, our joy. Centered around a monthly theme called The Cover Story, EFNIKS curates a collection of voices from a broad cross-section of QTPoC experiences to provide our community with education and discussion, and validation we deserve. We publish both scholarly and community knowledge, as these inform each other and go hand-in-hand in our community. EFNIKS supports the arts through publishing short-story fiction, poetry, and visual arts features; our first cohort of paid interns has concluded their work with five young QTPoC writers finishing their roles in The Workshop @ The EFNIKS Daily; and this July, we hosted our first community event (branded The Kickbacks), a panel discussion on intimacy titled Heauxs of Color. Staffed by a team of QTPoC volunteers, EFNIKS works to raise funds every month to pay writers, artists, and contributors fair compensation--"exposure" is a dirty word around here.

Submissions: If you're a QTPOC creative looking for a digital home to express various artistic works, please reach out.
