Liberté Short Film

Hello, my name is Shawn Salomon and I'm the director for Liberté, which means freedom in Haitian Creole. The people that have impacted my life the most have been the people that I could learn the most from, these don't always necessarily mean that they're teachers but in a system and administration that cares more about state ranking, SAT scores and famous alumni. It's always a breath of fresh air whenever a teacher comes around who genuinely cares about you as a person, a teacher that can see past all the problems you may have, the insecurities that you face, your home life and even your situation and reach out to you as an individual in the classroom and do their best to help you. My goal is to capture that feeling with Liberté, a film made from my love for educators and from my pain as a student.
