The Lakes International Comic Art Festival
Donation protected
The Lakes International Comic Art Festival is a not-for-profit festival working with comic artists from around the world, alongside our local community in Kendal, to promote comic art in all its forms and styles.
Additionally we run projects such as the Breakthrough initiative, helping train comics creators and give them a means to publish their work, and we support the Comics Laureate role (with thanks to Funders the University of Lancaster) which seeks to promote comics as an aid to literacy.
We work with many artists doing amazing creative projects and your donation will help us support comic art creators and community projects in the future. Those who rely on the creative arts for their income are, in many cases, affected by Covid-19 restrictions more than many in other sectors.
Due to the impact of Covid-19 we moved to a virtual festival for 2020 and made it free for all. You can view the awesome collection of films and activities for LICAF LIVE online on the Lakes International Comic Art Festival website.
And we are super excited this year to be hosting our celebration of comic art from 15-17 October 2021 back in Kendal, Cumbria!
We are very grateful to Arts Council England and all our funders and supporters for helping to make the festival happen.
Please support our amazing festival by making a donation today. Your support will make a big difference and will allow us to commission more artists and events and keep the wonderful world of comics alive and well.
Thank you so much for your donation!!
