Help Me Cross the Finish Line—Dental Therapy Style (Because Apparently I Love a Challenge)
Okay, real talk: I never ask for help. Like, ever. But guess what? Life has thrown me a curveball—an exciting, slightly chaotic, and definitely expensive curveball—and here I am.
After 15 years in the dental world and the last two grinding through an incredibly intense (and pricey) dental therapy program, I’m just a little over six months away from the finish line. I'm tired. I'm proud. And I’m honestly amazed I still have all my teeth and hair.
But here's where things get wild: I’ve been given the opportunity to take the very first dental therapy state board exam in Washington this June—surprise! That’s about six months earlier than anticipated. It's a huge honor, a total career milestone… and, naturally, registration is due next week with little notice. Because why make anything easy, right?
This exam is my ticket to becoming a licensed dental therapist—something I’ve worked so hard for, sacrificed a lot for, and truly believe will change the future of dental care. But I need to raise $2,800 ASAP to cover the registration and all the lovely little costs that come with chasing dreams.
So, here I am. Asking for help. (This is me being brave and slightly uncomfortable.)
If you’ve ever had a tooth, know someone with teeth, or just want to support someone who’s all-in on making dental care more accessible and equitable—this is your moment. Anything helps. Seriously. Even a share or a kind word means more than you know.
Thank you for being part of this wild, wonderful journey—and for helping me make dental history, one smile (and one state board exam) at a time!
Thank you,
V
