Life altering surgery needed for 1 yr old pup
Donation protected
Spooky’s life began underneath an abandoned burned out trailer in Oklahoma. When the organization Street Dog Rescue and Recovery, was made aware of a litter of puppies and several adults living underneath this structure, they began what became a 4 day rescue mission to save lives. The conditions they had to deal with were not ideal. Mid July provided triple degree temperatures. The space underneath the trailer needed to access the puppies provided less than a 2 ft clearance. The tick and flea infestation was overwhelming. On day 4 the final puppy was removed from the hole underneath the trailer. That puppy was our boy Spooky. For the next 10 months Spooky sat homeless in Oklahoma. Bubbas Station Rescue heard about this pup who had already defied significant odds and chose to bring him to Pa in search of a forever home. Within 2 weeks of arriving in Pa, Spookys luck turned around when he finally found a forever loving home. During that 2 week period, we noticed that something was causing him pain while walking and attempting to run. We also noticed something restricted his ability to jump. At his vet appointment, his X-ray provided some shocking answers to his mobility concerns. Spookys left hip is missing its ball and socket. There's a hook shaped bone deformity rubbing against the pelvic bone. See attached X-ray picture, it's pretty mind blowing! After consulting with an orthopedic surgeon we were given great news! Spooky is a candidate for the corrective surgery, Femoral Head Ostectomy or FHO. This surgery will allow Spooky to live the life he was meant to as a happy-go-lucky pup. Free of restricted mobility and debilitating pain. For this to happen we are in need of financial donations to help cover the cost this necessary surgery. Bubbas Station Rescue is a small 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of homeless, unwanted, and unloved dogs. Please consider donating as no amount is too small to make a big difference in Spookys future.
