Life changing surgery for Deeqa in Somalia

Dear friends and family,

I'm writing to ask for your help in raising money for my baby cousin Deeqa, a 1-year-old girl who was born with a rare condition that prevents her from defecating normally. Deeqa lives in Somalia and her parents have been striving to help her in any way they can both physically and financially.

Deeqa was born with her tail closed, which means that she has no way to pass stool from her body. This condition is called anorectal malformation, and it is very rare. Only about 1 in 5,000 babies are born with this condition.

When Deeqa was 2 months old, she was taken to Ethiopia for surgery to create an opening in her abdomen so that she could pass stool. The surgery was successful, but Deeqa still needs further surgery to close the opening in her abdomen and create a normal pathway for stool to pass through her body - the picture attached shows this surgery.

The next surgery that Deeqa needs is very expensive. It will cost £8,000, and Deeqa's family cannot afford it. I am asking for your help in raising money to help Deeqa get the surgery she needs. This surgery will be life changing and will allow Deeqa to move more freely and have a better quality of life.
