Life changing treatment for Criostái

In 2013 my world fell apart, my beautiful boy was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!

DMD is a muscle wasting condition that affects every muscle in the body including the heart, lungs and the brain.

Our hearts broke as the doctor told us what the future would hold for our precious boy.

A life full of struggles he would be wheelchair bound by 9 years old and slowly deteriorate in front of our eyes and we should prepare ourselves for only having him with us for a few short years, as DMD will take him in his teens, and there was nothing they could do,

no treatments no cure, nothing we could do to fix our boy.

Devastating words no parent should have to hear.

 

My beautiful Criostái is now 15 years old, he is the sweetest wee boy, he has an amazing sense of humor, and loves nothing more than watching Liverpool play (he says he will manage them some day) he loves to play with his dogs and being outside with his sisters.

Criostái is now a full time wheelchair user and struggles with daily tasks, he depends on us for all his needs, he really is the best wee boy and we adore him.

Over the last 10 years we have desperately searched for any possible treatment and have found a clinic in America where he can receive life changing treatment.

A treatment that will prolong & add to the quality of his life, also slowing the deterioration.

He will need to receive it every 16 weeks!

We have already been to America and Criostái has had 6 treatments and the results have been amazing, Criostái has made significant progress and has improved greatly, this treatment is giving Criostái a real fighting chance and we hope thru your generosity and kindness that we can continue this treatment for as long as possible.

 

Each treatment costs approximately £12,000 including travel expenses.

 

We are trying to raise £50,000 to cover the costs for a year in the hope it becomes more readily available for us.
