Medical and life expenses during heart surgery
Donation protected
After two years of fighting to move to San Diego to be with my now husband, we were hit with a curveball just last week. My husband went in for a routine physical in which they heard a heart murmur and sent him for an EKG. He went in for his EKG last week and while they found that the heart murmur is nothing serious, he does have a very serious congenital heart defect called a Bicuspid Aortic Valve which has resulted in his Aorta being extremely dilated. This is an incredibly dangerous and potentially life-threatening condition, so we are being rushed into immediate open heart surgery next week.
During his recovery, he won’t be able to work his regular amount for quite some time which we are fearful will result in a heavy load of our daily bills and expenses piling up as well as the medical bills that will accrue from this procedure. I can only work a limited amount because I will be his primary caregiver during this time. We have three young children combined between the both of us, and want to make sure that we can still pay our rent, utilities, and daily expenses such as groceries, etc during this time.
This entire situation has been very scary. Those who know me well know that I lost my dad in 2017 to a massive heart attack after dealing with his ongoing heart issues for the most of my life, so this happening to my husband is very scary and sensitive for me. My husband is not the type to ever ask for help, and neither am I so making this fundraiser is very challenging for me to do.. but I also know we are surrounded by so many that love us and I am hopeful to try to relieve some of my husbands financial stresses so he can just focus on healing during this time.
Thank you all so much and if you can’t donate at this time, even just sharing this would be incredibly helpful.
